يعود بنا هذه الكنيسة إلى القرون الوسطى وتتألف من كنيستين:
الكنيسة القديمة ‏جدرانها مكسوة بالجداريات. هي من النوادر في العمارة الكنيسة لأن فيها حنيتان يتوسطهم رسم المصلوب. مواضيع الجداريات: الشفاعة، العذراء على العرش محاطة بمار بطرس وبولس، ذبيحة النبي ابراهيم، آثار لجدرانيات أخرى باتت مندثرة.
اما الكنيسة الثانية فهي أحدث عهداً ملاصقة للأولى، مبنية على النمط البازيليكي بثلاث اسواق، وامامها رواق بالحجر المعقود.
بقيت الكنيسة مستخدمة الى القرن التاسع عشر حين نزح آخر موارنة البلدة. ومنذ عام ٢٠١٢ انطلق مشروع ترميم الكنيسة.


This church is built in the medieval ages, and is composed of two parts:
The old church has walls filled with frescoes. It is one of the very rare churches in which you can see the crucified drawn between two naves.
The drawings are as follows:
The Deisis, Mary the throne of wisdom, surrounded by Saints Peter and Paul, Abraham's sacrifice, in addition to different frescoes that are damaged and can hardly be seen now.
The second church is just next to the first, but built in a later era, in a basilical form with three aisles.
The church was still in use by the maronite community until the 19th century.
Since 2012 a project to renew the church was launched.

كنيسة سيّدة اليمونة - اليمونة

أواسط القرن التاسع عشر حمت السيّدة شخصًا من آل ياغي من الغرق فنذر بناء كنيسةٍ لها في اليمونة. الكنيسة صغيرة بعقدٍ مصالبٍ. تشتهر هذه الكنيسة بكونها مقامًا عجائبيّّا يقصده المسيحيّون والشيعة للتبرّك.

The church of our Lady of Yammouneh - Yammouneh

In the mid XIXth century a man from the Yaghy clan was saved from drowning with the miraculous intercession of Our Lady. He dedicated himself to build a church in Yammouneh as an act of thanksgiving. The church is small with a crossed vault. The shrine is considered holy for both christians and Shias, and it is an important pilgrimage site for both religions.

محبسة مار بهنام - وادي حدشيت قنوبين

محبسة قديمة من القرن الثالث عشر، وهي قبو بعقد سريريّ وثلاث حنايا. تحتوي المحبسة على بقايا رسم جداريّ وكتابةً سريانيّة، ومذبح مصنوع حجريّ. أمّا مار بهنام فهو أميرٌ فارسٌ من بلاد ما بين النهرين، ترك كلّ ما له وفضّل الإستشهاد في سبيل المسيح على ترك إيمانه، نال إكليل الشهادة في القرن الرابع. واتصلت شفاعته بالموارنة من خلال الرهبان اليعاقبة في شمال لبنان.

The hermitage of St Bahnam - The valley of Hasdshit Qannoubine

It is an old XIIIth century hermitage, that consists of a single crib vault ending with three apses, with a stone altar, fresco remains and Syriac calligraphy. St Bahnam was a prince from Assyria, who preferred to leave his privileged life for the love of Christ, and he preferred martyrdom over recanting his Christian faith in the IVth century. He was made known to the Maronites by the Jacobite monks of Northern Mount Lebanon.
